My research field is noncommutative geometry. I study the topological aspects of objects arising in functional analysis, and aim to apply the theory of operators and algebras of operators to geometry and to condensed matter physics. In this context, I also often work with the large-scale (coarse) geometry of groups and metric spaces. The topics I have worked on so far include the C*-algebraic index theory of elliptic operators on noncompact manifolds and cohomology theories arising from topological phases of matter.
