From JR Kyoto Station to Kyoto University

To transfer, proceed to the Central exit "Karasuma Chuo-Guchi"

Bus

The following "Kyoto City Bus" ride will take approximately 30-35 minutes and cost 230 yen. (Public Transport in Kyoto

  • #17 (Bus Terminal A2): bound for Ginkakuji via Kawaramachi St.
    Get off at “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae.
    Time Table: From Kyoto Sta., From Kyodai Nobakubumae

    Be careful not to take "Kyoto Bus No.17", which goes to a different place.

  • #206 (Bus Terminal D4): bound for Kitaoji Bus Terminal via Higashiohji St.
    Get off at “Hyakumanben”. Time Table: From Kyoto Sta., From Hyakumanben

    #206 has a circular route. #206 via Senbon St. will take longer.

Kyoto City Subway & Bus

Take Subway Karasuma Line to Imadegawa, then City Bus #203 (bound for Gion and Shijo-Kawaramachi) and get off at "Kyodai Nogakubu-mae".

Taxi

The journey will take about 20 minutes and cost approximately 2,200 yen.

From Kansai International Airport

From Kansai International Airport to JR Kyoto Station

Airport Limited Express "HARUKA"

Take the JR airport express train "Haruka" to JR Kyoto Station. It leaves for Kyoto every thirty minutes, takes approximately 75 minutes and costs 3,170 yen including seat reservation. Kyoto is usually the final destination, so you need not worry when to get off. Please refer to Japan Railway web site.

Airport Limousine Bus

Take the JR airport express train “Haruka” to JR Kyoto Station. It
leaves for Kyoto every thirty minutes, takes approximately 75 minutes
and costs 2550 yen including seat reservation. Kyoto is usually the
final destination, so you need not worry when to get off.

From Kansai International Airport to Kyoto University or Hotels

Shared Taxi (Van)

Very convenient, "Door to Door" shuttle service to and from Kansai
International Airport and Kyoto city. The fare is approximately 3,500
yen. You are required to make a reservation in advance. For further

From Tokyo to Kyoto

The SHINKAN-SEN (the Nozomi Super Express)

The Shinkansen express trains are operated at intervals as short as
three minutes during day time. It takes about 2 hours and half from
Tokyo station to Kyoto station.(JR Central website)
