Abstract

A quiver is an oriented graph and its representation is an assignment that takes every vertex to a vector space and every edge to a linear map. After the relation between representation theory of quivers and Lie theory was found by Gabriel first, quivers became to play an important role in geometric representation theory. In this talk, we start with definition of a representation of a quiver and introduce how quivers appear in representation theory with many examples.
