Abstract

The determinant method is widely applied in the problem of counting rational points with bounded height. In this talk, I will introduce this method by the reformulation by Arakelov geometry. The pseudo-effective thresholds of certain line bundles can be applied to describe some key invariants, and I will explain such a connection.
