Symplectic resolutions of the Hilbert squares of ADE surface singularities

Abstract

In this talk, I will explain properties of the Hilbert scheme of two points on a surface with ADE singularities. Then I will describe how its symplectic resolution is obtained. I will also show that the fibers of the resolution characterize the singularity of the Hilbert scheme. As an application, I will give some examples of symplectic varieties which have the same local singularities as the Hilbert scheme.
