In the theory of dynamical systems, the class of uniformly hyperbolic attractors was introduced about 50 years ago. These types of attractors have remarkable topological and statistical properties. The plykin attractor is an important example of uniformly hyperbolic attractor. In this talk, I will introduce the plykin attractor on the plane (or on a sphere) in discrete time by using the DA construction (Derived-from-Anosov map) due to Smale. The main focus of my talk is a new construction of Plykin attractor in continuous time using a family of Weierstrass elliptic functions.
