Roughly speaking, given a regular Dirichlet form, its regular Dirichlet subspace means another regular Dirichlet form whose Dirichlet space is contained in the former one. In this talk, I will briefly recall the origin of regular Dirichlet subspace. The story started from several transforms of Markov processes induced by multiplicative functionals. Then I will introduce some recent studies about this topic.
