The Cremona group in dimension n is the group of automorphisms of
the field or rational function in n variables with coefficients in
a field K. In geometric language, it is the group of birational
transformations of the projective n-dimensional projective space
over K. I will report on the recent progress in the study of this
group based on the techniques of hyperbolic geometry and the theory
of complex dynamical systems.
