Both the entropy and the rate of escape are important parameters in the description of a random walk on a group (say a big enough group e.g. non-amenable). I will discuss connections between the geometry of the group (mainly hyperbolicity), the regularity of the rate of escape/entropy in terms of the driving measure and central limit theorems.
