On rigidity of Lie foliations

Abstract: 

Zimmer proved that the holonomy group of a Lie foliation has rigidity similar to that of uniform lattices of higher rank semisimple Lie groups if the leaves of the Lie foliation are isometric to a symmetric space of noncompact type of higher rank. We will present a generalization of Zimmer's theorem including the case of real rank one, which is proved based on a variant of Mostow rigidity.
