The dynamical degree of an automorphism is a real number that quantifies its complexity. The question of which numbers are realizable as the dynamical degrees of automorphisms of K3 surfaces has been considered. In this context, the realizability of given polynomials as the characteristic polynomials of an even unimodular lattice has also been studied. In this talk, I will explain recent developments on these topics and my contribution to them.
