Train: The JR Haruka Limited Express takes around 70 minutes to get from Kansai Airport to Kyoto Station and there are departures every 30 minutes.

From Itami Airport to hotel

Train: If you are going to go to Kyoto with low cost, the monorail/ Hankyu train will be a good option. For example, trans connect Itami Airport and Kyoto-Kawaramachi.

From the hotel to Kyoto University

Walk east for 4-minutes to the bus stop Shijo Karasuma. Take Kyoto City Bus (not Kyoto Bus) number 3, 65 or 201 and get off at Hyakumanben. It takes about 24-minutes and cost 230 yen. This is a reasonable one, though the following map may suggest you some other options.

From the bus stop Hyakumanben, it takes about 8 minutes to the Department of Mathematics on foot.
