Overview

The purpose of the workshop is to highlight recent developments on Shimura varieties, automorphic representations and related topics, and encourage interaction between mathematicians working in these areas. This workshop is focused on the arithmetic geometry of Shimura varieties, Rapoport-Zink spaces and p-adic period domains, p-adic and rigid analytic methods, representation theoretic methods (local and global), Galois representations, and arithmetic properties of L-functions. This workshop is supported by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists (S) ``Comprehensive studies on Shimura varieties, arithmetic geometry, Galoisrepresentations, and automorphic representations'' (20674001).

• As well as advanced research talks, we also plan to include some introductory lectures on the topics related to the workshop for students and non-specialists. Those who are interested in the topics, especially students and young post-docs, are encouraged to participate.
• A banquet will be held in the evening of Nov 26 (Wed). (Registration required!)
• An excursion around Kyoto city will be organized during or after the workshop depending on the weather forecast. Hopefully, red leaves will be beautiful in this season in the mountain area.
• Notices for Speakers: If you want to circulate writings (slides, notes, preprints, papers, etc.), please send the PDF files or URL to me (Ito). I will duplicate them. I will also make a link to them from this webpage. As usual, you may use blackboards in your talk. It is also possible to use a projection equipment (e.g. overhead projector with transparency film and/or digital projector). If you plan to use such a high-tech machine, please let me (Ito) know in advance. We might have to borrow it from some other rooms. It might take time to prepare it.
